At WindowSight, our mission is to “turn screens into windows of inspiration” by enriching everyday life with powerful visual storytelling, supporting artists fairly, and building an inclusive, creatively diverse community. We celebrate art that connects, transforms, and transcends gallery walls, making beauty a part of everyone’s daily life.
We know how much love, effort, and dedication go into your work. Our curator team reviews every request with attention and care. Sadly, not all requests can be accepted. Below, we explain the most common reasons for decline.
1. Community cohesion and balance
WindowSight is a growing platform, and we carefully manage the number of artists we feature. We try to avoid too much repetition, aiming instead to highlight the strongest representatives of each style or medium. When we already have several artists producing similar work, we may put On Hold or Decline a new request to preserve diversity and ensure that every artist on the platform stands out.
2. Alignment with the WindowSight artist community
Our community is built on artistic quality, cohesion, and mutual pride. We look for artists whose work not only meets professional standards but also complements and strengthens the existing community. Each new artist should feel at home alongside their peers, and the community should feel proud to welcome them.
3. Portfolio quality and digitization
WindowSight is designed for large-screen displays and we must take in mind that artworks are experienced on large TVs. For this reason, portfolios must be carefully curated, complete, and fully digitized at high quality. If the curator team views that the artworks are not well prepared for this format or don’t get to a certain standard, we cannot include them on the platform.
4. Professional Standards
While we celebrate creativity in all its forms, WindowSight is specifically designed for professional artists with a demonstrable background and artistic projection. This typically means presenting a consistent body of work, having experience with renowned exhibitions or publications, and demonstrating a clear artistic voice. Requests without this level of development may be declined.
Being declined is not a reflection of the artistic value of your work. Rather, it reflects the specific needs and standards of our curated community. For now, we are committed to showcasing a limited but strong group of artists whose work together defines the WindowSight experience. This community will be growing, that’s why you might have been put on hold.
We sincerely thank you for sharing your portfolio with us and for your interest in becoming part of WindowSight.
